05-17-11 Robber reportedly steals cigar; daily incident report

Boise, May 17, 2011 - Boise Police are searching for the suspect in a robbery that reportedly occurred last night on the sidewalk of the Capitol Blvd bridge. A man called police at 10:00 p.m. last night and reported he had been walking north across the bridge when a dark-skinned male approached him walking south. The suspect demanded the cigar the victim was smoking. The suspect then lifted his jacket to display what appeared to be a handgun and demanded a cell phone. When the victim said he didn't have a cell phone, the suspect took the cigar and walked off, continuing south across the bridge. The victim walked to a nearby phone and called police. Officers immediately searched the area but did not locate the suspect. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male wearing a grey hoodie and a black beanie. Officers are currently following leads in this case.

Arrested: Mirissia M. Reyes, 19, Nampa

Charged: Burglary (F)

Boise Police were called by employees of a retail store in the area of Franklin and Milwaukee Monday afternoon. Officers found evidence the suspect had taken clothing items outside the store with no attempt to pay for the items. The felony burglary charge indicates officers believe the suspect entered the business with the intention of committing a crime. She was booked into the Ada County Jail.
