Officers Investigate Fatal Car Crash on Parkcenter

04-09-11 Officers Investigate Fatal Car Crash on Parkcenter

UPDATE: April 9, 10:05 a.m. - Boise Police detectives  investigating a deadly one-car rollover crash says there's evidence the car was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to it leaving the roadway. Sadly, the driver, a young male was not wearing a seat belt. He was ejected from the car and killed.

Investigators say the speed limit on the stretch of Parkcenter Blvd is 35 mph. Boise Police crash reconstruction experts say there's evidence the car was traveling at an excessive speed likely causing the driver to lose control.

Boise, April 9, 2011, 6:40 a.m. - Boise Police patrol, detectives and crash reconstruction experts are on scene of a deadly single vehicle crash on Parkcenter Blvd. near Bown Rd. The Ada County Coroner has also been called to the scene.

What Happened: Boise Police were called at 4:31 this morning by a citizen reporting a car in a field. Officers investigated and found the car had apparently rolled several times, landing in the field after it left the roadway. Officers also found the body of a male who had apparently been the driver. The male had been thrown from the car and was deceased. It appears the car was traveling east on Parkcenter Blvd. when it left the roadway and rolled into the field.

Officers questioning neighbors say some report hearing a noise about 2:00 a.m. Officers say that might have been the time the crash occurred.

The crash remains under investigation. Further information will be released when available. The name of the driver, who appears to be the only occupant of the car, will be released by the Ada County Coroner following a positive identification and notification of family.
