03-16-11 DUI Driver arrested for Aggravated Assault; daily incident report

    Arrested: Alejandro F. Mendoza, 49, Boise

    Charges:Aggravated Assault (F), Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(m)

  Boise Police responded to a citizen call of a road rage situation near Curtis and Franklin yesterday afternoon, March 15th, at approximately 3:00 p.m. The victim tells police he was pulling out of a parking lot at that location when the suspect, later identified as Alejandro Mendoza, began pursuing him northbound on Curtis. The victim tells police he then turned around in an attempt to evade the other vehicle going south on Curtis. At one point, the victim tells police the suspect got into the center turn lane and passed multiple cars at a high rate of speed to get along side the victims vehicle. Once along side, the victim says the suspect swerved his vehicle in an attempt to hit the victims car. The victim tells police he was fearful for his safety and believed the suspect was trying to run him off the road. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle at Curtis and Franklin. The suspect, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .29/.28 at the Ada County Jail. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 9 ASSAULT AND BATTERY18-905.Aggravated assault defined. An aggravated assault is an assault: (a)  With a deadly weapon or instrument without intent to kill; or (b)  By any means or force likely to produce great bodily harm.

    Boise Police responded to a citizens report of vehicle prowlers on the 9700 block of Klondike Court early yesterday morning, March 15th, at approximately 2:00 a.m. The calling party tells police she witnessed two males entering vehicles and taking items. The witness was able to provide a description of the suspect vehicle and a direction of travel. An Ada County deputy located the suspect vehicle at Oriole and Chickadee streets. Officers located several stolen items in the vehicle including a wallet, binoculars and stereo equipment. Adrian Nunez and Luis Padilla were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges. A third suspect, a juvenile male, was released to the custody of a relative.
