11-15-10 Officers get Arrest Warrant for Robbery Suspect

    Boise, Nov. 15, 2010 - Boise Police say it was a citizen's tip to Crime Stoppers that helped identify the suspect in two recent robberies.

    The citizen tip helped greatly in furthering the investigation, which led detectives to obtain an arrest warrant this afternoon for the suspect. The suspect is currently in the Canyon County Jail where he's been since last Wednesday, Nov. 10th on a parole violation.

    Charge: Robbery (F) 2 counts

    What Happened:  Boise Police were called to two robberies at two retail stores within a half hour of each other Sunday, Nov. 7 (see release dated same day at Evidence immediately suggested to officers the same suspect was responsible for both robberies. Officers were able to release a surveillance photo of the suspect and the investigation included a request to citizens for tips to help identify him.

    "The citizen tips to Crime Stoppers helped us make this case," said Sgt. Mark Barnett of the Boise Police Department Criminal Investigation Division. "Our detectives were able to take those leads, identify and locate the suspect. We very much appreciate the media and the publics and the help. That help and cooperation was definitely very valuable in this case."
