11-16-10 Felon Arrested for Meth & Spice Possession; daily incident report

Arrested: Idris Abdulrahim, 23, Boise

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance - meth (F), Possession of a legend drug - spice (m) ISC 37-2732(c)(3), Parole Violation (F)

    Boise Police were called to assist a Probation and Parole Officer conducting a search of felony probationer, Idris Abdulrahim. During a search of the suspect's residence Monday afternoon near Fairview & Allumbaugh, officers located a zip-lock baggie with white residue that field tested presumptive positive for methamphetamines in the suspect's bedroom. Officers found additional evidence the suspect was also in possession of spice, a misdemeanor. The suspect was taken into custody on the above charges and booked into the Ada County Jail.

    About Spice: Last month Governor Otter signed a State Board of Pharmacy rule adding the chemicals used in to make Spice - which also goes by K2, Genie, Ultra, Bombay Blue, Black Mamba and a host of other names - onto the state's controlled substance list making it illegal to sell or possess the product under Idaho State Code 37-2732. The upcoming Legislature will decide whether to make the ban permanent.

37-2732.  Prohibited acts A -- Penalties. (a) Except as authorized by this chapter, it is unlawful for any person to manufacture or deliver, or possess with intent to manufacture or deliver, a controlled substance.

(c)  It is unlawful for any person to possess a controlled substance unless the substance was obtained directly from, or pursuant to, a valid prescription or order of a practitioner while acting in the course of his professional practice, or except as otherwise authorized by this chapter.

(3)  Any person who violates this subsection and has in his possession a controlled substance which is a nonnarcotic drug classified in schedule I except lysergic acid diethylamide, or a controlled substance classified in schedules III, IV, V and VI is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof may be imprisoned for not more than one (1) year, or fined not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), or both.


Arrested: Dustin R. Houser, 19, Boise

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance - meth (F), Possession of marijuana (m), Possession of drug paraphernalia (m)

    Boise Police were called to a fight between two people at a home south of Overland and Latah Monday afternoon. While investigating, officers found evidence the suspect, Houser, was possibly under the influence of illegal drugs. Further investigating of the suspect's home and car revealed a small amount of marijuana, several pipes and bongs, and a baggie containing a white crystal substance that field tested positive for meth. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.
