UPDATE: Boise, Oct. 21, 2010, 8:21 a.m. - Boise Police have charged a Winnemucca, Nevada man in connection with a bank robbery in Boise yesterday. The man is the same one who failed to stop for Meridian Police, led officers on a chase into Nampa, then crashed his vehicle into a backyard shed.

   Charge: Robbery (F)

Officers believe the second suspect in the robbery is a female who was the passenger in the car with Parsons when it crashed. She remains hospitalized this morning with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.

Additional charges against Parsons are possible in connection with his failure to stop for police prior to and during the pursuit.

Boise, Oct. 20, 2010, 3;15 p.m. - Boise Police are on scene in Canyon County where a vehicle crashed into a backyard shed of a residence after leading police on a high speed chase from Meridian through Nampa, into Canyon County.Officers believe the two people in the vehicle are connected to a bank robbery that occurred in Boise just over an hour ago.

What Happened: Boise Police were called to a robbery at a bank on the 1100 blk of Broadway at 2:10 p.m. this afternoon. Detectives investigating say witnesses report a woman walked into the bank, handed a teller a note demanding money, then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

About 20 minutes later, an officer with Meridian Police spotted a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Interstate 84 near Meridian Rd. The vehicle matched a description of one possibly connected to the bank robbery, a Mazda RX8 with Nevada license plates. The Meridian officer tried to pull the vehicle over, however the vehicle failed to stop which initiated a pursuit. Officers from Meridian PD, Boise PD and Idaho State Police were involved in the pursuit of the vehicle, which continued at speeds estimated at approx 100 mph on the interstate into Nampa. Officers reported spotty, mild to medium traffic conditions on the Interstate during the chase.

The suspect vehicle exited the interstate on Karcher Rd. Nampa Police then took over the chase which went approx eight miles down Karcher Rd into Canyon County. The driver of the suspect vehicle then apparently lost control, hit a fence, went down an embankment and crashed into a shed in the backyard of a home off Karcher Rd.

Officers immediately called for paramedics. Officers found two people trapped inside the car, a man and woman. Both were extricated and have been transported to A Boise hospital. The conditions or injuries of the man and woman are unknown at this time.

Boise Police are working with Nampa Police and Canyon County Sheriff's Deputies investigating the crash and it's connection to this afternoon's bank robbery.

At this time, Boise Police are the primary investigating agency. Additional information will be released when available.
