Arrest for Lewd Conduct; Officers concerned may be more victims

09-16-10 Arrest for Lewd Conduct; Officers concerned may be more victims

Boise, Sept. 16, 2010 - Boise Police have arrested a man wanted for one count of Lewd Conduct with a Minor. Investigators are concerned other children may have been victimized by the suspect.

Arrested: Russell J. Parker, 28, Boise

Charge: Lewd Conduct with a Minor (F)

Boise Police arrested the suspect, Parker last night. Ada County Prosecutors issued a warrant for his arrest late Tuesday after a police investigation that began July 22nd.

Boise Police were called by a relative of the alleged victim, a male toddler around the age of 3, reporting the alleged abuse occurred while the suspect was babysitting the victim at the victim's Boise home. The suspect is an acquaintance of the victim's family and, although not a daycare provider, was proving babysitting services for the victim's family earlier this spring and summer. After investigating, detectives with the Boise Police Special Victims Unit forwarded the report to prosecutors, who issued the arrest warrant for Parker. He has since been booked into the Ada County Jail.

Investigators working the case say they have reason to suspect Parker may have sexually abused other children. Investigators are asking any other adults who believe their children may have been around Parker in recent months to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.

Due to the ongoing investigating, if other potential victims are located, that information will only be available for public release upon filing of any additional criminal charges.

Again, anyone with information on other children who may have been around the suspect, Russell Parker, is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS, log onto, or text CRIMES or 274637, subject: Tip236.
