UPDATE: August 23rd 2010 -The suspect in the shooting from Saturday night died late last night of injuries that appear to have been self inflicted. The female remains hospitalized at this time. 

The name of the deceased man is expected to be released by the Ada County Coroner when notification of family has been completed. 


   Boise, Aug 22, 2010 -Boise Police are investigating a shooting that occurred last night that sent two people to the hospital.

   What Happened: Boise Police received a report of shots being fired in an apartment complex on the 2800 blk of S. Ladera Place, just west of W. Canal St. and Vista. Ave at 10:50 p.m. Saturday night, August 21st. Numerous officers were only blocks away assisting firefighters with a structure and grass fire and were able to arrive on scene within moments. 

   When officers arrived at the apartment home they found a 34 year old woman with a gunshot wound, and a 54 year old man also with a gunshot wound. At this time, officers believe the man shot the woman then shot himself. Both were transported to a nearby hospital. The suspect has injuries believed to be life threatening. The victim also has serious injuries. Investigating officers say the man and woman were not married but had a former domestic relationship. Officers did recover a weapon they believe was used in the crime.
