      Burglary and Firearms charges top overnight arrests


    Arrested: Corissa A. Stephanidis, 30, Boise

    Charges:Burglary (F)

Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 5200 block of West Franklin yesterday (February 1st) at approximately 7:00 a.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal items and then leave the store without paying for them. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.


    Warrant Arrested: Anthony L. Ashley, 49, Boise

    Warrant Charges:Felon in Possession of a Firearm (F)

The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Felon in Possession of a Firearm yesterday at a residence on the 400 block of Pueblo Alto street.

During an ongoing investigation into the possession of illegal firearms, officers searching the suspects home Monday found:

  • 16 handguns
  • 2 shotguns
  • 2 rifles
  • 5,000+ rounds of ammunition
  • bullet proof vest.

For a convicted felon (suspect has felony history, including robbery and illegal possession of firearms dating back to 1980), all the above are prohibited under state and/or federal law.

Boise Police are continuing to investigate how the suspect came to possess the weapons, including whether the weapons are stolen or were illegally purchased.
