02-26-10 Arrest in Garry Lane State Street Collision

Arrest in Garry Lane State Street Collision

Arrested: Daniel F. McGee, 20, Boise

Charges:Aggravated Driving Under the Influence - Injury Accident Involved (DUI)(F)

At approximately 9:53 this morning (February 26th) Boise Police received a report of a collision involving 4 vehicles at the intersection of State Street and Gary Lane. Officers closed North and Southbound Traffic at the time. Two persons involved in the crash were transported to a local hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries at the time.

Boise Police arrested Daniel McGee shortly after the collision. As officers arrived on scene they identified the suspect as a driver involved in the crash. Officers recovered a small amount of marijuana from the suspect's person at the scene. Boise Police Drug Recognition Experts conducted field sobriety tests and have evidence that the suspect may have been under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of the crash. Blood and other evidence was collected for later testing. The suspect was booked on the above listed charges.

Members of the Boise Police Crash reconstruction team responded to the scene to begin their investigation into this incident. At approximately 1:30 p.m. this afternoon officers were able to re-open the roads.

Officers believe this incident could be related to a hit and run that took place moments earlier in Garden City. Inquiries into that incident should be directed to the Garden City Police Department.
