10-20-09 Police Search for Missing Man

10-20-09 Police Search for Missing Man
Boise, Oct. 20, 2009 - 1:30 a.m. - Boise Police are searching for a man reported missing from his parents home just northeast of Cole & Fairview at 8:00 p.m. last night. The man's family tells police he has medical issues that can make him confused and unpredictable.
He walked away tonight without his wallet, ID or needed medication. Without the medication, he risks suffering seizures. Boise Police are concerned for his welfare and are asking the public for help in finding the man.
Missing Man: Phil Omas, 51, Boise
Description - 5'7", 170 lbs, short brown hair & blue eyes. Omas is wearing the same dark blue zip-up hoodie with a white t-shirt that he's wearing in the attached photo, and dark blue sweat pants with white tennis shoes. See attached photo
Additional Info: According to family members, Omas does not drive and left on foot. Family members tell police he likes to sit in cars and pretend he is driving, so officers are asking people to check their unlocked cars.
Omas can communicate, but may not sense or understand that people are looking for him.
Currently an extensive search is being conducted by Boise Police on foot and vehicles by patrol officers. Boise Police have also enlisted the help of search dogs from Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue.
If anyone has seen or finds Phil Omas, Boise Police urge you to call 911 immediately. Thank you.
