09-25-09 Arrest in Overnight Stabbing; Child in Drug House leads to Arrest
Felony Arrest Update:

    Arrest in Overnight Stabbing
Boise, Sept. 25, 2009 - Boise Police were called shortly before midnight Thursday, Sept. 24th, by citizens reporting a stabbing that had just occurred in a parking garage at 8th & Main St.
Arrested: Patrick L. Ellis, 20, Boise
   charge: Aggravated Battery (F)
What Happened: Boise Police officers arrived just moments after the call and found several witnesses still on scene. Witnesses told officers a man, later identified as the suspect, Ellis, and a woman had been verbally and physically fighting on the 2nd floor entrance of the parking garage. Witnesses say a man who had just parked his car in the garage intervened. A physical fight then began between the suspect and the man, with the suspect allegedly used a knife to stab the victim, the man who tried to intervene, several times in the leg and back. The suspect then left the scene.
The victim was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital with injuries that do not appear life threatening.
Thanks to information gathered by officers from witnesses, officers were able to soon locate the suspect Ellis at his east Boise home. He was questioned and arrested approx. 7:00 a.m. this morning on the above charges.
Citizen report of child in a drug house leads to meth arrest.
Arrested: Steffanee R. Wallace, 26, Boise
Charge: Possession of Methamphetamine (F), Possession of drug paraphernalia (m)
What Happened: A report came into Boise Police Neighborhood Contact Officers from a citizen reporting a young child living in a home where drugs were being used. The home is S. Garden St, southwest of Franklin and Orchard.
Officers investigated and found that 3 adults and a toddler lived in the home.
Officers went to the home Thursday afternoon, Sept. 24th, accompanied by representatives from Probation and Parole and the Idaho Dept. of Health & Welfare. Officers received consent for a search of the home. Inside, officers found several baggies that contained a white powdery substance. Officers field tested the substance and found it tested positive as methamphetamine. Officers also found drug paraphernalia, including syringes and spoons consistent with meth use. Officers found evidence that indicated the meth and drug paraphernalia belonged to the suspect Wallace.
Officers did locate the suspect's child. Because of officers concerns for the safety of the child, a detective from the Boise PD Special Victims Unit (SVU)  declared the child in imminent danger and turned the child over to the custody of State Health & Welfare.
