Arrested: Joshua L.  Luman, 26, Boise
   Charge: 2nd degree Murder

What Happened: Boise Police were contacted late Tuesday morning, Sept. 8th, by a staff member of a downtown Boise hospital, reporting a patient who had just died of suspicious injuries. The victim, a man in his mid-20's from Boise, had reportedly been brought to the hospital by two acquaintances late Monday afternoon.
Boise Police Detectives began investigating and soon learned the victim and at least two acquaintances, including the suspect, had apparently been drinking at the bandshell at Julia Davis Park late Sunday night, Sept. 6th, into early Monday morning, Sept. 7th. Detectives believe at approx 2:00 a.m. Monday morning, the suspect Luman punched the victim in the face. Officers believe the victim fell and hit his head. The victim's acquaintances then took the victim to a Boise home. Several hours later, after not being able to wake the victim, acquaintances, including the suspect, took the victim to the hospital approx 5:00 p.m. Monday. The victim was pronounced dead Tuesday morning.
After investigating, Boise Police questioned and arrested the suspect just before midnight Tuesday, Sept. 8th. The suspect has been booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.
Boise Police have been told by the Ada County Coroner's Office that an autopsy will be done on the victim, likely later today, Wednesday, Sept. 9th. The Coroner's office is responsible for confirming the identification of the victim, as well as determining and confirming the exact cause of death. More information is expected from the coroner as it becomes available.
The suspect, Luman, is expected in court for arraignment on the murder charge later today.
Boise Police are asking anyone who may have more information on the case and the crime to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
