08-14-09 Felony Grand Theft charges top overnight arrests

    Boise August 14th, 2009 - Felony Grand Theft charges top the overnight arrests in the City of Boise


    Arrested: Jason M. Fisher, 24, Garden City

     Charges: 3 counts of Grand Theft (F)

    Arrested: Christopher E. Harris, 24, Garden City

     Charges: Harboring a Fugitive (F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Prescription Medications)(F)

    Boise Police, investigating a series of bike thefts, received a citizen tip yesterday (August 13th) indicating the location of a person of interest in the case could be located at a residence on the 500 block of East 44th street in Garden City. The bike theft suspect, identified as Jason Fisher, had been a suspect in several bike thefts and officers have been actively searching for him for several days. Officers conducting the investigation in cooperation with Garden City Police had warned the owner of the residence, later identified as Christopher Harris, that harboring a wanted person was against the law. Officers observed the suspects at the residence together and took them both into custody. Harris was found to have prescription pills in his possession at the time of arrest. The suspects were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Steven L. Williams, 32, Boise

     Charges: Injury to a Child (F)

    Boise Police investigating an Injury to a Child case, arrested Steven Williams yesterday (August 13th) at a home on the 400 block of Driftwood Avenue. Witnesses tell police that the suspect had placed a child, under the age of 8, in danger on July 25th of this year. The child is known to the suspect. The incident was reported to police Wednesday (August 12th). The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges. No further information is available at this time.

18-1501.Injury to children. (1) Any person who, under circumstances or conditions likely to produce great bodily harm or death, willfully causes or permits any child to suffer, or inflicts thereon unjustifiable physical pain or mental suffering, or having the care or custody of any child, willfully causes or permits the person or health of such child to be injured, or willfully causes or permits such child to be placed in such situation that its person or health is endangered, is punishable by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding one (1) year, or in the state prison for not less than one (1) year nor more than ten (10) years.
