07-02-09 Floating Season Parking Advisory

07-02-09 Floating Season Parking Advisory
Boise, July 2, 2009 - The float season for the Boise River has begun, and Boise Police are urging floaters to be courteous to residents who live near Barber Park. Officers strongly suggest floaters park in the parking lot provided at Barber Park, and not on surrounding neighborhood streets or thoroughfares.
No Parking signs are clearly posted on several streets in the Barber Park area. In many cases, the streets are too narrow to safely allow for parking and through motorist traffic.
Some floaters have told officers they don't want to pay the $6 fee to park for the day. However, the $6 fee is much less than the fine for a parking citation, which is $37.00.  Parking on the lot could save floaters $31.00!
