06-16-09 Both Cited in Car - Bike Collision
      Boise, June 16, 2008 - Boise Police cited both the driver of a car and the rider of a bike following a collision this morning that sent the cyclist to the hospital. The cyclist appeared to have a non-life threatening leg injury.
       What Happened: Boise Police were called to a collision involving a car and a bike at the intersection of Emerald & Mitchell at 8:35 a.m. this morning.
       After investigating, officers found the cyclist, a 20 year old woman from Boise was riding her bike eastbound in the westbound bicycle lane on Emerald. The driver of a Ford Fusion, a 32 year old woman from Boise was stopped for a red light southbound on Mitchell, turning right onto westbound Emerald. According to the officers report, the motorist went to make the right hand turn, didn't see the cyclist and turned into her. The officers noted there were bike lanes on both east and west sides of Emerald.
       The cyclist was cited for improper position on the roadway - riding against traffic - fine $46.50
       The motorist was cited for making an unsafe right turn - fine $75.00
