05-26-09 Holiday weekend arrests of note

Boise May 26th, 2009 - Holiday weekend arrests of note within the City of Boise


  Arrested: Patrick V. Williams, 33, Moscow

   Charges: Aggravated Battery (F), Resisting and Obstructing officers (m)

    Boise Police received a report of a fight involving a knife at a residence on the 4000 block of Libby Lane yesterday (May 25th) at approximately 6:45 p.m. Witnesses tell police that the suspect, later identified as Patrick William, had been involved in a verbal argument with a resident. The suspect and victim know each other. The confrontation turned violent when the suspect lunged at the victim repeatedly with a knife, causing what appeared to officers on scene to be deep cuts in the victims hands. Witnesses say the suspect then fled on foot. Officers who arrived on scene located the suspect walking down the street near the residence. Boise Police officers issued several verbal orders to the suspect that the suspect failed to obey. Eventually officers were forced to deploy a Taser to safely take the suspect into custody. The knife officers believe was used in the attack was located a short distance away from the apartment, laying in the grass. Officers believe that alcohol use may be a factor in this case. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.


  Arrested: Richard A. Burns, 2nd, 25, Boise

   Charges: Possession of a controlled substance (Meth)(F), Possession of paraphernalia (m)

    Boise Police responded to a citizen report of a suspicious person neighbors saw loitering and not a resident of the neighborhood Sunday (May 24th) near White Cloud Dr. and McMullen Street at approximately 5:58 p.m. Officers who made contact with the man, later identified as Richard Burns II, received a consent to search him. Officers located a baggy of meth and scales in the man's possession. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.


  Arrested: Faith L. Kincaid, 32, Idaho

   Charges: Possession of a controlled substance (prescription drugs)(F) 

Warrant Charges: Escape (F) Idaho Department of Corrections

    Boise Police, actively looking for an escaped inmate from the Idaho Dept. of correction, tracked the suspect to a retail store on the 8300 block of West Overland Saturday, (May 23rd) at approximately 4:00 p.m. When officers took the suspect into custody they located prescription medications illegally in her possession (she had no prescription for the medications). The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.


  Arrested: Keith B. Hammond, 45, Idaho City

   Charges: Burglary (F)

  Arrested: Cynthia S. Storts, 49, Idaho City

   Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of shoplifting at a retail store on the 100 block of East Myrtle Friday (May 22nd) at approximately 4:30 p.m. Store loss prevention employees tell police that they witnessed both suspects conceal several makeup items and then leave the store without paying for them. Police officers believe the pair entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charges. The suspects, a married couple, were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    The Boise Police Organized Retail Crime Unit has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the BPD Organized Retail Crime Unit is to work with retailers to reduce theft and fraud, crimes that can impact consumer prices.
