05-17-09 Police seek witnesses in Saturday Hit & Run

Boise May 17th, 2009 - Boise Police are asking for help with a hit and run collision that took place Saturday evening.

    On Saturday (May 16th) at approximately 7:00 p.m. Boise Police responded to a hit and run collision at 6th & Grove street downtown. Witnesses tell police that a newer black dodge charger had been following two bicyclists southbound on 6th street. The white male driver of the vehicle had reportedly been honking and following the bicyclists before he sped around the bicycles. Witnesses say the car then abruptly pulled in front of the bicycles and slammed on the brakes causing one of the two bicycles to slam into the car. The driver of the car then sped off and was last seen turning right onto front street. The driver of the bicycle involved in the collision sustained what appeared at the time to be minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital. The driver of the car could face leaving the scene of an injury accident charges, a felony.

Vehicle Description: A newer black four door dodge charger driven by a white male adult with a female passenger seen in the area of 6th & Grove approximately 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
