01-27-09 Two Arrested in Vehicle Burglaries

Boise, January 27, 2009 - Boise Police arrested two people Monday after a citizen called police saying he saw the two breaking into a car.

Suspect: John C. Flight, 19, Boise

Charged: Burglary (F) 3 cts, Resisting & Obstructing Officers (m)

A second suspect arrested is a 17 year old juvenile.

What Happened:  About 3:00 a.m. Monday morning, January 26th, a citizen in the area of Kootenai and Orchard called police saying he had just seen two men entering a vehicle, in what the citizen thought looked like a burglary attempt.

Boise Police Patrol Officers responded. The officers saw two men near a pick up, when the two men saw the officers, they both ran. One suspect, Flight, was caught by officers and taken into custody. The second suspect, a 17 year old juvenile, was found by police later Monday near the area of Cassia and Curtis.

Boise Police Detectives say the pair has so far been linked to 3 vehicle burglaries, where CD's and other personal items were taken out of the cars. Officers say they have evidence that the pair may be responsible for at least six, and the juvenile responsible for as many as a dozen. Officers say it appears the suspects went through the neighborhood trying car doors, entering those that were unlocked.
