10-19-08 Meth Selling Arrest

Boise, Oct. 19, 2008 - Boise Police arrested a man last night after he twice sold meth to an undercover police officer. The officer told the suspect she was 15 years old.  The investigation began after a citizen tip that the suspect was selling meth to minors.

Arrested: David J. Featherstone, 57, Boise

Charges: 2 counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

Penalties: on both counts, maximum life imprisonment, fine to $25,000, or both.

The Investigation: Earlier this month, a Boise Police Neighborhood Contact Officer received information that the suspect was selling illegal drugs to minors. With the assistance of the Boise Police BANDIT narcotics unit, officers used an undercover police officer to make two separate purchases of suspected methamphetamine from the suspect, Featherstone. Each time, the undercover officer bought one gram of meth from the suspect.  The meth purchases occurred at two separate parking lots in Northwest Boise near the suspects home.

Detectives say the investigation is continuing with a potential for additional charges.
