05-08-08 Arrest of Bank Robbery Suspect

    Boise, May 8, 2008 - Boise Police, in cooperation with the FBI arrested a man wanted for robbing a bank in Arizona last month. The man was arrested peacefully Wednesday morning at the home of a relative.

    Suspect: Jeffrey L. Groves, 44, Buckeye, AZ

    Charge: currently being held in the Ada County Jail on Fugitive to Idaho charges. The charge is in connection with a robbery warrant out of Arizona.

    Background: Boise Police recently received information from police in Goodyear, Arizona (near Phoenix) that the suspect may be in Boise. Goodyear police say the tip came from a citizen tip.

    Boise Detectives followed up and located a vehicle believed to used by the suspect at an apartment complex on E. Park Meadow, near Eagle and Chinden. Wednesday morning the suspect was leaving an apartment and walking to the vehicle when he was arrested.

    Groves is wanted for the robbery of an M&I Bank in Goodyear, Arizona April 5th. According to police in Goodyear, Groves handed the teller a note demanding money and was last seen leaving the bank on foot.
