04-26-08 Officer Arrested for DUI

    Boise, April 26, 2008 - An off-duty Boise Police Officer was charged with DUI early this morning. The officer was off duty in his personal vehicle when an Idaho State Trooper noticed a moving violation and pulled the vehicle over. The incident occurred at approx. 12:15 a.m. near the intersection of Curtis and Irving in Boise. The off-duty officer was taken to the county jail, and after an investigation, the trooper cited the off-duty officer with misdemeanor driving under the influence. 

    Charged: Gary Miller, 37, Boise

    Miller has been a Boise Police Officer for ten years. He is currently assigned to the Bench Patrol Division. Officer Miller remains on the police department, and has an otherwise exemplary service record.

    In addition to criminal proceedings, Miller is subject to an internal investigation regarding applicable policies of the Boise Police Department.  The Boise Police Department demands the highest professional conduct from it’s officers, both on and off duty, including conformance to laws.
