12-07-07 Extra Patrol Raises Awareness

Boise December 7th, 2007- Yesterday Boise Police conducted a saturation patrol downtown at the busy intersection around 9th and Front streets. Boise officers issued 29 citations for various infractions ranging from Jay-walking to turn signal violations during the busy noon lunch hour. Officers want to help raise awareness for drivers and pedestrians who travel the busy area especially with construction that  could provide distraction for drivers and pedestrians. 

Citations issued include:

-1 citation for failure to obey a pedestrian traffic signal

-6 citations for failure to obey a red traffic light

-17 citations for turning position or movement when making a turn

-1 citation for unsafe turning movement (failure to signal)

-1 citation for exceeding the posted speed limit

-3 citations for non moving violations

Boise Police Officers want everyone to be aware of their surroundings when they are driving or walking near busy streets and keep an extra eye out for the other guy.
