09-20-07 Community Shred-It Day

    Boise, Sept. 20, 2007 - Boise area Crime Stoppers is sponsoring Community Shred-It Day this weekend, encouraging citizens to bring in any items that, if fallen into the wrong hands, could lead to identity theft.

    Who: Boise area Crime Stoppers

    What: Community Shred-It Day

    Where: Public Safety Bldg, 7200 Barrister, Boise, parking lot

    When: Saturday, Sept. 22nd

    Time: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

    What you need to know: The following items can be shredded: tax papers, checks, bank statements, check stubs, prescription bottle labels, credit card applications, any label with your information, CD-Rom's, CD-R's, DVD's, computer backups, video tapes, cassette tapes, financial records, old credit cards.

    There's a limit of 5 boxes per vehicle.

    All items will be shredded for free. Crime Stoppers will accept donations to help support the Crime Stoppers program, including the cash rewards offered to citizens for crime solving tips.

    The efforts of the Boise area Crime Stoppers program is supported by the Boise Police Department, Ada County Sheriff's Office, the Meridian Police Department, and the Garden City Police Department.
