09-11-07 Burglary With Shot Fired

Boise Sept. 11th 2007, Officers responded to a burglary in progress at a local business early this morning. At approximately 3:00 AM this morning an employee at a business located on the 5100 block of Fairview Ave tells police she heard someone trying to break in. She contacted one of the other employees who came to the business immediately. Both employees tell police they found the suspect had gained entry to a bathroom by breaking a window, but he was unable to gain further entry into the business due to a locked door. One of the employees fired a single shot from a small pistol at the suspect as he fled the bathroom through the same window he had used to gain entry. The employees contacted Boise Police who canvassed the area for the suspect. Officers found no evidence at the scene to indicate anyone had been hit by the single shot that was fired. No items where taken and no victims where injured during the burglary attempt.

The suspect is described only as a shadowy male figure. Detectives are following up on leads in this case. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call crime stoppers at 343-COPS.
