Arrest in Reported Rape

Arrest in Reported Rape

Boise, July 9, 2007 - Late last night, Boise Police arrested a man and charged him with rape after a reported assault in a downtown Boise hotel room.

Arrested: Maurice R. Troutman, 25, Long Beach, CA

    Charge: Rape

The victim of the attack, an adult female, reports she does not know the suspect, Troutman, who police believe assaulted the victim in her hotel room early Sunday morning.

Troutman was in the Boise area this weekend as a player on the Bakersfield Blitz Arena Football team. Boise Police Detectives say they appreciate Blitz team officials who were very cooperative with officers. Blitz officials delayed the teams departure from Boise so Boise Police could conduct their investigation into the assault.

Further details will come from Ada County Prosecutors as they carry this case forward in court. The suspect is scheduled for arraignment this afternoon.

UPDATE: July 9, 11:30 a.m. - Boise Police have arrested a California man and charged him with Burglary in connection with a case that also includes the rape of a woman in a hotel room.

Arrested: Rennard Reynolds, 30, Long Beach, CA

    Charge: Burglary (F)

Reynolds is also a player for the Bakersfield Blitz Arena Football team. Reynolds was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail shortly before 10:00 this morning.

Again, further details on this case will be presented by Ada County Prosecutors as they carry this case forward in court.
