Teens are Suspects in NW Boise Vehicle Burglaries

Boise, June 13, 2007 - Vehicle Burglaries: Two Boise teenagers are suspects in several recent vehicle burglaries in Northwest Boise.

The two teens, age 16, were located by police about 3:50 this morning, after a witness called police reporting suspicious activity on the 7600 blk of W. Rygate Dr. The witness saw someone inside her father's truck. The suspect then jumped into another vehicle and drove away. The witness was able to obtain a license plate number. Officers used that license plate number to track the teen suspects to a nearby home.

Boise Police Juvenile Detectives, following leads, also believe the two teens are likely responsible for several other vehicle burglaries in the same area. Detectives say the teens would target unlocked vehicles and take whatever they could find inside.

Both teens may face possible charges of felony burglary in connection with this morning's break ins.

Vehicle Vandalism: Also early this morning, between 2:15 and 8:25 a.m., 9 cases of vehicle vandalism were reported, in the neighborhoods between the 900 blk of N. 20th Street and the 1300 blk of Harrison Blvd. Victims report windows and headlights broken out of vehicles, however, at this point, the victims tell officers nothing is missing from the vehicles. Also early this morning, three businesses in the North End neighborhood also report broken windows.

The suspects in the NW Boise vehicle burglaries are NOT suspected in the North End vandalism cases.

There is no suspect information at this time on the vandalism.

If anyone has any information on who may be responsible, they're urged to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
