Theft Suspects Arrested

Theft Suspects Arrested

Boise, May 16, 2007 - Boise Police arrested two men overnight and charged them with Grand Theft for stealing scrap metal.

Officers are investigating whether the two are responsible for several similar thefts from the same business, totaling some $23,000 in losses.

Arrested: Douglas R. Langley, 22, Boise

Arrested: Michael D. Felsted, 30, Boise

    Charged: Grand Theft

What Happened: Boise Police were conducting special surveillance after an airport-area manufacturing company reported the theft of scrap metal from a supply yard, with thieves cutting a chain link fence to steal the metal. The first theft was reported in March. Since then, the business was hit with similar thefts five times.

Last night, officers saw a suspicious vehicle leaving the area. The vehicle was stopped and some of the stolen metal was found inside. The two men in the vehicle were arrested.

Officers believe the thieves were stealing the scrap metal and selling it to a recycler outside Boise. Detectives say additional charges are possible against the above two suspects.
