Man Charged in Taxicab Stabbing

    May 13, 2007 4:30 PM -   Boise Police detectives have charged a suspect in connection with yesterday's knife attack on a taxi driver.

Arrested:    Robert J. Eldredge, 34 of Boise

Charged:    Aggravated Battery.

    Eldredge was detained by officers yesterday shortly after 7:00 PM during an area search for a male subject who had stabbed the female driver of an Orange cab in the area of E. Boise Ave and Apple St. The suspect was picked up by the taxi and taken to the area of Boise and Apple where he stabbed the driver in the throat and fled on foot. The victim was transported to a local hospital. Witnesses provided a description to responding officers who established a perimeter and began searching for the suspect. An officer observed Eldredge cross Park Center Blvd on foot and contacted him inside Baggley Park. Eldredge was carrying a knife on his person.
