Arrest in Kidnapping and Assault case

Arrest in Kidnapping and Assault case  Boise, May 3rd, 2007 - Boise Police have arrested a Boise man on kidnapping and Battery charges.

On April 8th, 2007, at 2:28 a.m., officers were called to a possible kidnapping. The investigation revealed that earlier that morning a woman and a friend hailed a cab in the downtown area driven by the suspect Habib Hubijar. The suspect dropped off the friend, another woman at her destination. The second woman was in the front seat with the suspect. The woman tells officers, at that time, the suspect drove in a direction opposite from her intended destination. The cab ended up on a dead end street near the intersection of Roosevelt and St. Andrews. The woman tells officers the suspect then reached into her shirt. The victim  says she jumped out of the cab which was still moving slowly to get away. The woman says the suspect then sped away from the location.

After investigating, the case was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecutors Office. On Tuesday May 1st an arrest warrant was issued for the arrest of Habib Hubijar. The suspect turned himself in that day.

Arrested: Habib Hubijar
Charges: Kidnapping, Battery, a felony and a misdemeanor charge
