Boise, April 24, 2007, 12:30 p.m. - Boise Police are questioning a man after a bank robbery this morning.

Officers were called to the US Bank at 1000 S. Broadway (near BSU) at 10:12 a.m. Witnesses told police a man in a dark hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses walked into the bank, claimed he had a bomb and demanded money. The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Quickly officers spotted a possible suspect vehicle. One officer was able to see the driver and see he matched the description of the robbery suspect. The suspect vehicle began to drive at speeds close to 55 mph down Boise Ave. Officers backed off, but were able to catch up again when the suspect turned north onto Leadville. As the suspect turned right onto Warren, an officer was able to use his patrol car to bump the suspect vehicle, spin, and stop that vehicle.

The suspect was then taken into custody peacefully. Officers were also able to determine quickly on scene that the bomb threat made at the bank was a hoax.

The robbery suspect is currently being questioned by Boise Police detectives.
