Marijuana Trafficking Arrest

      Boise, April 5, 2007 - Boise Police found two pounds of marijuana in a pick up truck after the driver was pulled over for a traffic stop.

      Arrested: Isaias Valdez, 20, Boise

      Charged: Trafficking Marijuana

      Officer Matt Jones made the traffic stop near the intersection of Poplar and Allumbaugh shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3rd. As he approached the driver, Officer Jones noticed a strong smell of marijuana. Officer Jones also saw what he believed to be drug paraphernalia inside the pick up driven by Valdez.  

      After some investigation, Valdez was found to be carrying more than $5,600 in the pockets of his shorts, and officers found more than two pounds of marijuana in his vehicle. Officers say they believe Valdez had been selling the drug.

      Trafficking Marijuana carries a penalty of one year in prison.
