Arrest in Counterfeit Check Case

Arrest in Counterfeit Check Case

Boise Police have found and arrested a man wanted in connection with a Counterfeit Check case. This is the same fraudulent check investigation connected to the forgery suspect involved in an officer involved shooting last Monday night at a retail store on S. Federal Way in Boise.

Arrested: James D. Anderson, 46, Twin Falls

Charged: 1 ct. Grand Theft, 1 ct. Forgery

Boise Police Detectives say the charges against Anderson stem from a counterfeit check passed in Boise in early March. The check is from a fraudulent account detectives believe was also used by Theodore Arthur Hansen, Jr., although it not the same fraudulent account Hansen was attempting to use Monday night. Hansen is the suspect who pulled a knife on officers as they tried to arrest him Monday. Hansen was shot by officers. He died later at a Boise hospital.

Boise Police have been looking for Anderson in connection with the fraudulent check case. Anderson was found today shortly after noon at the Boise home of an acquaintance. Officers have since learned Anderson has been staying at a Caldwell Motel.

Detective say they are no longer looking for any suspects or persons of interest connected to this fraudulent check case.
