Two Killed in Traffic Accident

Boise, Sept. 26, 8:00 p.m. - Boise Police are investigating a tragic accident that killed two people on State Street this afternoon.

The accident was reported at approximately 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of 31st and State Street involving a motorcycle and a car. Officers arriving on scene found one woman, a passenger on the motorcycle dead at the scene. The driver of the motorcycle had what appeared to be very serious head injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died. Neither the man or woman on the motorcycle were wearing helmets.

Also transported to the hospital was the driver of the car involved, a Toyota Scion. The 63 year old man did not appear to have life threatening injuries.

Victims names will be released from the Ada County Coroner.

What Happened: Officers are still investigating the accident, but witnesses say the Toyota pulled out from 31st onto State to make a left turn and the motorcycle, headed east on State Street, hit the Toyota's drivers side. Some witnesses reported to officers that the motorcycle was traveling at a fast speed, but how speed may be involved is part of the ongoing investigation.

Traffic Impact: To aid victims and investigate the scene, officers had to close State Street from approximately. 4:45 p.m. until approximately. 7:30 p.m.
