Stolen Flags

Stolen Flags

Boise, June 29, 2006 - Boise Police are looking for leads after several people in a southeast Boise neighborhood say their flags were stolen.

One stolen flag belongs to an Iraq war veteran. Written on the flag are the signatures of the soldiers the veteran served with in Iraq. The flag was displayed outside the family's front door.

Another flag was stolen from a church on the corner of Bergeson and Holcomb. That flag is very large, measuring 8 x 12 feet.

In all, four flags have been reported from the area, three from homes along Williamsburg Way and one from the church, all went missing sometime Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.

"These flags mean a lot to the people who display them," said Boise Police Chief Michael Masterson. "Our officers would love nothing better than to find who's responsible, find the flags and return them to their rightful owners."

Anyone with any information on the stolen flags is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS. Information may remain anonymous, and information leading to an arrest could mean a reward of up to $1,000.
