Car Into Store

Boise, 2:44 p.m., May 9, 2006 – Boise Police are investigating an accident this afternoon where a car drove into a health food store. The accident was reported at 1:06 p.m. at the Mrs. Beesley’s Health Food store at Five Mile Overland.

Witnesses tell officers a Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by an 84 year old woman, seemed to accelerate as it drove into the store. The accident caused major damage to the storefront, with the Jeep driving completely inside the store before coming to a stop. The driver of the Jeep was taken to a hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.

Two other women are hospitalized with what appeared to be potentially serious injuries.

At this point it’s unclear whether both women were inside the store or if one was on the sidewalk when the vehicle hit them. One victim is a 74 year old women. No information is available yet on the second victim.

So far, no charges have been filed. The accident remains under investigation.
