Boise, April 15, 2006, 2:50 a.m. – Boise Police are interviewing witnesses and scouring the crime scene after shots were fired into a crowded party at a West Boise apartment.

Officers were called to the apartment on the 7800 block of Ustick at approx 12:18 a.m. Witnesses told responding officers that about 20 people were at the party when an argument began. The suspect, a black male adult, left the party. Then, according to witnesses, several shots were fired into the living room of the apartment through a window. The weapon used appears to be a handgun.

Four people were hit and injured. Preliminary reports indicate the victims are:

15 year old female - gunshot wound to the head, injury appears serious.

17 year old female, 28 year old male, 30 year old male with gunshot wounds that did not appear life threatening.

At this time detectives are still working at the crime scene and developing leads. No further information is available for release on the incident or a possible suspect. A news release will be issued when more information is available.


Boise, April 15, 2006, 11:30 a.m. – Boise Police are still working to try and identify a suspect in an overnight shooting that injured four people.

Victim Updates (updates ages from previous release):

14 year old female from Boise - gunshot wounds to the head and chest. Injuries are serious.

15 year old female from Boise, 28 year old male from Boise, 30 year old Male from Garden City transported to hospital with gunshot injuries that did not appear life threatening.

Suspect Info: Witnesses say shots were fired by a black male adult. At this time, Detectives are still trying to positively identify the suspect responsible.

What Happened: Officers were called to an apartment complex on the 7800 blk. Of Ustick at 12:18 a.m. where a party was in progress with approx. 20 attending. Witnesses said several people had been arguing. The shots were fired from outside the apartment through a glass door and window. The victims were inside the apartment when they were hit.

Boise, April 15, 2006, 6:06 p.m. – Boise Police are now investigating last nights shooting at a Ustick Rd. apartment complex as a homicide.

Victim Update: The 14 year old female victim, shot twice in the head and chest, died shortly after 5:00 this afternoon. The victim is from Boise. Her identity and exact cause of death will be released by the Ada County Coroner.

Suspect Update: Investigators continue to try and positively identify a suspect.

The Investigation: Officers have been working around the clock since the shooting to try and piece together exactly what happened. This investigation is a priority. Anyone with any information is urged to call Ada County Dispatch at 377-6790.
