Car Vandalism

Car Vandalism

Boise, February 27, 2005 – Boise Police are searching for those responsible for a rash of vehicle vandalism late Friday night, early Saturday morning in Boise’ North End.

Officers have taken more than 30 reports of car windows broken out in the area of 23rd Madison, stretching northeast to 12th street in Boise’s North End. Damage is estimated at approx. $14,000.

Officers say it appears bricks and or rocks were thrown from a passing vehicle into mainly rear windows of parked cars. Investigators believe the vandalism occurred around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Feb. 25th. Vandalism appears to be the only motive, as the cars were not burglarized.

“This is something no one wants to happen in their neighborhood,” said Sgt. Ted Snyder. “It appears the motive was simply to destroy other people’s property, so finding those responsible is a priority.”

Officers are asking anyone who may have been in the North End early Saturday morning and remembers seeing a suspicious vehicle to please call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS. If anyone is missing a load of bricks, this may also be related.
