Arrest Bank Robbery

Arrest Bank Robbery

Boise, February 2, 2006 – This afternoon, Boise Police charged an Ontario man with Robbery after the hold up of the Home Federal Bank on Fairview last Friday afternoon (Jan. 27th).

Boise Police worked with officers from Weiser, Ontario, Caldwell, Payette and Malheur Counties and the FBI to find and arrest the suspect. He was taken into custody in Ontario, Oregon last night.

Arrested: Ramon A. Reyes, 47, Ontario

Charges: Robbery, Use of a Firearm During a Felony = $500,000 Bond.

Reyes is currently in the Washington County Jail in Weiser.

Background: Boise detectives compared bank surveillance photos and the MO (method used) from the Boise robbery last Friday and found similarities to a bank robbery that occurred January 5th in Weiser. Boise Police contacted Weiser Officers and found they had identified a possible suspect.

After the arrest of Reyes last night, Boise Police found him in possession of evidence that further links him to the Home Federal robbery. Detectives say Reyes was wearing the same clothes when he was arrested, including the same striped jacket, that police believe he wore during the Boise bank robbery.

At this time, Boise Police continue to investigate the case and whether Reyes is linked to any more area bank robberies. Boise Detectives say the case could not have been made without the help of the agencies listed above. BPD officers want to thank those agencies for excellent work and cooperation.
