Traffic Enforcement

The Boise Police Department has three units specifically designated for traffic enforcement. All patrol officers throughout the city also focus on traffic safety within their assigned neighborhoods. To learn more about any of these units click on the links to the left of this webpage!

The Boise PD Motors Unit is specifically assigned to educate and enforce traffic laws and does directed patrols targeting school zones, seat belts, and aggressive driving.

The BPD Commercial Vehicle Unit  ensures safe operation of all commercial vehicles in the City of Boise.

The Boise Police Night STEP Unit focuses on drunk driving education and enforcement. The unit has been recognized as one of the most effective in the nation.
