Emergency Services Unit

cntcrissisnegotiationsteamlogo.jpgThe mission of the ESU is to provide safety, security, and order to our citizens during times of crisis. The team is comprised of one Lieutenant, two Sergeants, and 27 officers.

The Emergency Services Unit (formerly the Crowd Intervention Team) is a specialized unit consisting of 30 officers trained to deal with crowd situations and responses to catastrophic events.

Each ESU officer is certified in advance crowd control training. Additionally, each officer on the team has been trained by the Department of Homeland Security in providing citizen support during terrorists events (such as an incident involving Weapons of Mass Destruction). The ESU team has specialized training, equipment, and tactics to support large crowds during times of crisis.
