Boise Police escort for Corporal Kevin Holtry

Boise Police and other participating law enforcement agencies will be providing Corporal Kevin Holtry an escort from Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center to Jackson’s Jet Center, located on Rickenbacker Street, Thursday morning.  Corporal Holtry will be transported by ambulance before being loaded onto a medical transport plane.

“This celebratory escort is to safely honor Corporal Holtry and his family as they travel from the hospital to the medical transport plane,” said Deputy Chief Eugene Smith.

The escort is expected to start at Saint Alphonsus around 8:45 a.m. but is contingent on several factors including medical needs, flight delays, weather concerns etc. The escort will last about 25-30 minutes and will take the following route from Saint Alphonsus.  Any part of this plan is subject to change at any time.

South on Liberty

Right on Emerald

Left on N. Raymond St.

Right on Fairmont St.

Left on N. Allumbaugh St.

Right on Barrister Dr.

Left on N. Cole Rd

Left on W. Victory Rd

Continue straight onto Wright St.

Right on Rickenbacker St.

Media:  Members of the media planning to be at the hospital are asked to set up on the sidewalk on the east side of Liberty near Emerald.

Media can also stage at the Ada County Sheriff’s Office on Barrister.  That is the designated location for area law enforcement employees and first responders to view the escort.

There is not a media staging area at the airport as it is a private facility.

The weather is expected to be very cold but if anyone is interested in stopping to view the escort the Boise Police Department wants to ensure they do so in a safe manner.  We suggest the following locations for safety and visibility.

The Furniture Row parking lot on Cole Road.

LDS Temple on Cole Road

The Stinker or Maverick at Cole and Victory Road
