Arrest in Last Week's Robbery of an Electronics Store

Boise Police have been alerted by officers in Seattle, Washington that the man wanted in connection with the armed robbery of an electronics store last week had been arrested.

"This was a very frightening crime for the victim and thanks to a solid, effective effort by both departments, this suspect is in custody. This was great work by patrol officers following the robbery to get the suspect identified. A thorough job by officers in Seattle also made this arrest possible," said Sgt. Mark Barnett of the Boise Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit.

Suspect: Patrick Lawrence Duignan, 45, transient out of Nevada

A $500,000 felony warrant for Robbery was issued for Duignan with nationwide extradition was issued shortly after the robbery, March 14.

What Happened: Immediately after the armed robbery of the electronics store on West Overland Road last Friday, patrol officers began searching the area for the suspect. Patrol officers found a man matching the suspect's description had been at a nearby convenience store just prior to the robbery. Using that information, officers were able to identify the suspect and obtain a warrant for his arrest.

Yesterday, Boise Police detectives were contacted by officers in Seattle. Seattle Police stated that their officers had contacted the suspect on an unrelated matter Tuesday, and upon identifying him, learned of the warrant and arrested him. Boise Police have since made contact with the suspect and gathered further evidence linking him to the crime.

The suspect is currently in jail in Washington State pending an extradition hearing.
