Boise Police Volunteers gave 12,853 hours of service to our department and our city last year!
More than 80 volunteers attended the annual Boise Police volunteer appreciation banquet earlier this month. Chief Masterson, Deputy Chief William Bones, Community Outreach Division Captain Steve Meyers and COD Division Lt. Alan Cavener were also there along with Neighborhood Contact Officers Will Reimers and Jim Schiffler.
Each volunteer reaching a milestone year was recognized with a plaque. Four people received plaques for 15 years of service, six for ten years, and six people also received plaques for five years of service to our great city.
The staff at the Marriot Courtyard was terrific and served and prepared a great meal. Entertainment from local magician Jason Byers was also a lot of fun.
From the Greenbelt patrol to playing McGruff to assisting with ceremonies and meetings and all things public safety, we are honored to work with such a terrific group of people committed to serving our department and this community. We couldn't do it without you!
