Flashing a gun at a red light leads to felony arrest; Citizen call helps officers locate DUI driver; BPD Weekend Watch Log

 Arrested: John Arthur Lee Jr., 61, Boise

 Charged: Aggravated Assault (F)

 Boise Police officers were dispatched to a report of an armed subject near South Gekeler Lane and East Boise Avenue on Saturday, February 22, at 5:15 p.m.  A witness reported that as he approached this intersection, slowing for a red light, a man standing on a nearby sidewalk, later identified as Lee, pulled a handgun from his right pocket and pointed it at the witness. The witness told officers the display of the weapon made him fear for his safety and that of his wife and son who were also in the car. The witness says he quickly drove off and, when he was far enough away to feel safe, he called 911 on his cell phone. Officers quickly located a man who matched the suspect description as he walked westbound on Boise Avenue. The man was identified as Lee and found to be in possession of a 1911 style pellet gun, and two small folding knives.  Lee was arrested for the above charge and booked into the Ada County Jail.

Arrested: Jamee L. Wade, 39, Boise

Charged: DUI (F), Resisting and Obstructing (m), Driving Without Privileges (m)

Boise Police officers were dispatched after a citizen called reporting a suspected DUI driver in the area of West Emerald Road and North Maple Grove Road on Sunday, February 23, at 12:49 a.m.  Upon arrival officers quickly located the suspect vehicle.  As an officer pulled up behind Wade, who was seated in the driver’s seat with the engine of the vehicle running, the officer turned on his overhead emergency lights.  Wade then started to back out of the parking stall, nearly striking the officer.  Wade was contacted and then told to stay with his car, but he ignored those orders and attempted to leave on foot.  Wade was ultimately arrested for DUI and transported to the Ada County Jail.  A blood draw was taken for evidentiary purposes.  Wade is currently on felony probation for DUI, and is suspended for a prior DUI.  A records check revealed Wade has five prior DUI arrests since 2011, making this a felony charge. The records check indicated Wade is required to have an interlock device on his vehicle, however, officers did not see one. Wade was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.

 Arrested: Jaime Alvarez, 23, Boise

Charged: Possession of a Controlled Substance – Oxycodone (F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

Boise Police officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot near North Cole Road and West Ustick Road on Saturday, February 22, at 2:08 a.m.  A witness reported seeing a vehicle occupied by two subjects who were smoking something out of tin foil.  Officers arrived and located the vehicle.  Upon contact, Alvarez was found to be in possession of a piece of foil with a partially burned pill and burnt residue, as well as a straw and a lighter.  The pill was identified by its markings as 30mg Oxycodone Hydrochloride, a schedule II controlled substance.  Alvarez was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.  The other occupant of the vehicle was not charged.

Arrested: Nicole A. Browning, 20, Donnelly

Charged: Burglary (F)

Boise Police officers were sent to a retail store in the 8300 block of West Overland Road on Sunday, February 23, 1:21 p.m. for a report of a theft.  Witnesses reported observing Browning conceal several small items of clothing and personal hygiene items, going through a self checkout lane, paying for some items then leaving the store without attempting to pay for other concealed items. Several of the stolen items were found in Browning’s possession..  The investigation also uncovered evidence that Browning had intended to commit the theft when she entered the store, making this charge a felony.  Browning was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.

Arrested: Robert K. L. Carter, 25, Meridian

Charged: Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine (F), Possession of a Controlled Substance – Spice (F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

A Boise Police officer on routine patrol near South Earle Street and West University Drive on Sunday, February 23, at 10:21 a.m. stopped a vehicle for failing to signal when turning.  The driver was identified as Carter.  During the traffic stop it was discovered that Carter is on felony probation.  The officer’s investigation uncovered that Carter was in possession of  a glass smoking pipe with a white residue, a small baggie of methamphetamine weighing almost a gram (total package weight), and  a baggie of suspected spice which weighed 5 grams (total package weight).  The methamphetamine field tested positive.  The suspected spice and the glass smoking pipe were sent to the Idaho State Lab for additional testing.  Carter was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.

Arrested: Sarah Angel Hill, 36, Garden City

Charged: Warrant – Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver (F)

A Boise Police officer on routine patrol near West Overland Road and South Entertainment Avenue on Sunday, February 23, at 5:40 a.m. was able to develop information that Hill was in a nearby hotel, and had a felony $100,000 warrant for her arrest.  Officers were able to contact Hill and take her into custody without incident.  Hill was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above warrant.

Arrested: Codie L. Montano, 25, Boise

Charged: Warrant – Failure to Appear (F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

A Boise Police officer, who was searching for Montano because of an outstanding arrest warrant, was able to locate him at an area homeless shelter in the 500 block of South Americana Boulevard on Saturday, February 22, at 6:56 p.m.  Montano was arrested without incident, and found to be in possession of a marijuana pipe with burnt marijuana residue in it.  Montano was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.

Arrested: Trina R. Abramson, 33, Boise

Charged: Warrant – Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver – Methamphetamine (F)

A Boise Police officer on routine patrol was able to develop information that Abramson was in an area motel in the 1600 block of West Main Street on Saturday, February 22, at 7:00 a.m.  The officer confirmed that Abramson had an outstanding warrant for her arrest.  Abramson was contacted and arrested without incident and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.

Arrested: Michael K. Treadway, 48, Boise

Charged: Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine (F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

A Boise Police officer on routine patrol stopped a vehicle on Saturday, February 22, at 8:17 p.m. near North Dalton Lane and West Ustick Road for multiple signal violations.  With the help of a Boise Police K9, officers were able to discover that Treadway, a passenger in the car, was in possession of almost a gram (total package weight) of methamphetamine, multiple smoking pipes and a syringe.  The methamphetamine field tested positive.  Treadway was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.
