Driver arrested for Felony DUI after crashing into a parked car and trying to drive away; BPD Daily Watch Log

Arrested: Lance A. Daniels, 49, Boise

Charged: DUI (F), Leaving the Scene of an Accident (m)

Boise Police officers were dispatched to a crash near East Boise Avenue and South Apple Street this morning at 1:08 a.m.  Information given to the officers indicated that a vehicle had struck a parked car and then left the scene.  Upon arrival the officers were able to quickly locate the suspect vehicle, which had become disabled a short distance away.  The driver of the vehicle, Daniels, failed field sobriety tests and a breath test and a .194.  Daniels has two prior convictions for DUI within the last ten years making this a felony charge.  Daniels was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.

Arrested: Matthew Kent, 33, Transient

Charged: Warrant – Possession of a Controlled Substance (F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

Boise Police officers were dispatched to a retail store in the 10400 block of West Fairview Avenue on Wednesday, February 20, at 2:57 to check for a subject with warrants.  A detective working with the Boise Police Organized Retail Theft Unit located Kent and confirmed the warrants through dispatch. The warrant was issued February 10, 2014 following an investigation by the Idaho State Police that began November 15, 2013. Kent was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.
