Meth, Illegal Possession of Prescription Drug Arrests; Accused Serial Bike Thief returned to Ada County; BPD Weekend Log

Arrested: Jennifer L. Englesby, 37, Boise

Charged: Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine (F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

Boise Police assisted Probation and Parole officers during a search of a probationer’s house in the 2900 block of North Dalton Lane yesterday at 10:38 p.m.  During the search Englesby was found to be in possession of two white crystalline rocks which field tested positive for methamphetamine, numerous pipes used for smoking methamphetamine, and a silver electronic scale that had a crystal-like substance on it that also field tested positive for methamphetamine.  Englesby was arrested on the above charges and booked into the Ada County Jail.

Arrested: John C. Holt, 26, Eagle

Charged: Vehicle Burglary (F)

Boise Police responded to a citizen call of a vehicle burglar in the area of North Allumbaugh Street and West Preece Lane on Saturday, January 25, at 7:20 p.m.  Officers spoke with a witness who said that Holt entered his vehicle without permission and removed several items including a Batman bench seat cover, a headrest cover, and $8.39 in loose change.  Holt was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.

Arrested: Franklin L. Myers, 40, Kuna

Charged: Possession of a Schedule II Drug – Oxycodone (F), Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance – 2nd Offense (m), Driving without Privileges (m)

While on patrol near West Main Street and North 27th Street on Sunday, January 26, at 1:22 a.m., a Boise Police officer observed a vehicle leave the parking lot of a convenience store and drive onto West Main Street without stopping as required by law.  The driver of the vehicle, identified as Myers, has a suspended driver’s license, and was not able to provide current proof of insurance.  This was Myers second charge of driving without proof of insurance in five years, making this a misdemeanor.  Myers was arrested for driving without privileges and failure to provide proof of insurance (2nd offense).  Upon search incident to arrest Myers was found to be in possession of a small white container containing eight oxycodone pills, which were identified by their shape, color and markings.  Myers was unable to provide officers with a prescription for the oxycodone.  Myers was arrested on the above charges and booked into the Ada County Jail.

Arrested: Tracy A. Sanchez, 44, Boise

Charged: Possession with the Intent to Deliver – Methamphetamine (F), Possession of a Schedule III Drug (m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

Boise Police officers were on patrol in the area of Russett Street and Hartman Street on Saturday, January 25, at 12:18 a.m. when they observed a vehicle driven by Sanchez fail to signal a right turn and then fail to signal a lane change.  Officers stopped Sanchez and with the help of a Boise Police K9 unit, located one gram (total package weight) of methamphetamine inside Sanchez’s car.  The officer’s investigation further uncovered four small individually numbered baggies containing methamphetamine with a total package weight of six grams, a digital scale with methamphetamine residue on it, a pipe with methamphetamine residue in it, and a pill bottle with four Acetaminophen/Hydrocodone pills in it with no prescription.  All of the suspected methamphetamine field tested positive.  Sanchez was arrested on the above charges and booked into the Ada County Jail.

Arrested: Deven L. Sauve

Charged: Trafficking in Marijuana (F)

While on patrol in the area of West Beacon Street and South Leadville Avenue, a Boise Police officer observed a vehicle with an equipment violation on Saturday, January 25, at 2:57 a.m.  The officer stopped the vehicle and while making contact with the occupants smelled the strong odor of marijuana from the vehicle.  With the help of a Boise Police K9, the officers were able to locate 4.3 pounds of marijuana and uncovered evidence linking Sauve to the marijuana.  Sauve was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.

Arrested: Jannell L. Austyn, 35, Boise

Charged: Warrant (F)

Boise Police assisted Canyon County officials in apprehending Austyn for a warrant on a Larceny charge on Sunday, January 26, at 6:12 p.m.  Austyn was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the warrant.

Arrested: Christopher A. Brown, 20, Caldwell

Charged: Burglary (F)

Boise Police officers were called by store employees to a retail store in the 8300 block of West Overland Road on Friday, January 24, at 8:38 p.m. for a report of a theft.  Officers spoke with a witness who stated that Brown attempted to leave the store with store merchandise without attempting to pay for the items.  Evidence uncovered during the course of the investigation indicated that Brown had entered the store with the intent of committing the theft, making this charge a felony.  Brown was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.

Arrested:  John P. Dolan, 51, Boise

Charged: Burglary (F)

Boise Police officers were called by store employees to a retail store in the 5200 block of West Franklin Road on Friday, January 24, at 4:24 p.m. for a report of a theft.  Officers spoke with witnesses who stated that Dolan selected some alcoholic beverages and walked out to his car without paying for them concealing them inside his car.  Dolan then came back into the store and selected more alcoholic beverages, repeating the same procedure.  During the course of the investigation officers uncovered evidence indicating that Dolan had entered the store both times with the intent of committing the thefts, making this charge a felony.  Dolan was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.

Arrested: Thomas L. Nakaishi, 18, Mountain Home

Charged: Burglary (F)

Boise Police officers were called by store employees to a retail store in the 8300 block of West Overland Road on Thursday, January 23, at 7:11 p.m. for a report of a theft.  Officers spoke with a witness who stated that Nakaishi and a male juvenile entered the store, took a car charger and iPod charging cable, then left the store without attempting to pay for the items.  Evidence uncovered during the investigation revealed that Nakaishi  and the male juvenile had entered the store with the intent to commit the theft, making this a felony charge.  Nakaishi was arrested on the above charge and booked into the Ada County Jail.  The male juvenile was released to his parents with charges routed through the Ada County Juvenile Prosecutor.

Suspect: Luke Christopher Cross, 30, Boise

The suspect was booked into the Ada County Jail Friday afternoon after being arrested last month in Arizona on multiple felony charges including Grand Theft, Burglary, Malicious Injury to Property and Aggravated Assault. The charges are connected to a series of high end bicycle thefts last fall, mainly from the University and East Boise area. The suspect is also charged in connection with breaking the front door of a local pawn shop and attempting to run over a shop employee during an attempt to sell a stolen bike in November.
