Burglar Caught in the Act; Arson; Sexual Battery Charges; BPD Daily Watch Log

Arrested: Cody J. Henault, 29, Boise

Charged: Burglary (F)

Boise Police officers responded to a residence in the area of South Maple Grove Road and West Overland Road on Monday, January 27, at 6:36 p.m. for a report of an attempted burglary.  A Witnesses reported that they caught Henault attempting to break in to their residence.  Witnesses said when they surprised the suspect, he drove off. The witnesses are acquainted with the suspect and were able to identify him to officers.  Evidence obtained during the investigation linked Henault to an earlier burglary at the same residence.  Henault was arrested yesterday afternoon and booked in to the Ada County Jail on the above charge.

Arrested: Tommy C. Sellars, 55, Transient

Charged: 1st Degree Arson (F), Providing False Information to the Police (m)

Boise Police officers were called to an apartment complex near West Grand Avenue and South 13th Street yesterday at 8:15 a.m. to report of an arson.  Witnesses reported that a male suspect wearing a camouflage jacket, blue jeans and a white ball cap set fire to the contents of a trash can located in a common parking area, fanned the flames briefly, then left the area. A citizen quickly extinguished the fire. Responding officers quickly located the suspect and detained him.  Officers found the name the suspect initially gave to identify himself was false. Officers were able to confirm the suspect as Sellars.  Sellars was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.

Arrested: Luis Angel Saucedo, 30, Meridian

Charged: Sexual Battery of a Minor – 3 counts (F)

Boise Police arrested Saucedo at his workplace yesterday after a warrant for his arrest was issued for his arrest January 28 with a $1,000,000 bond on the above charges. The warrant stems from an investigation by detectives with the Boise Police Special Victims Unit following the reported battery involving a single victim on more than one occasion.  The victim in this case was known to the suspect.
