Boise Police were called to the bus station on the 1200 block of West Bannock Street Friday, January 3rd at 11:25 p.m., after bus company employees noticed the strong odor of marijuana coming from a passenger's bag. The bag was in the checked baggage compartment on a bus that just arrived in Boise from Portland, Oregon. Officers arrived and found several packages that had been inside the bag that smelled strongly of marijuana. Working with bus company employees, officers were able to identify the passenger whose name was on the bag as Michael Fuentes. When officers approached Fuentes, he ran. Two officers chased the suspect on foot north on 13th Street then west on Jefferson Street. Officers caught up with him but he refused orders to stop. Officers finally stopped the suspect at gunpoint in a parking lot at 13th & Jefferson and took the suspect into custody. Inside the suspect's bag, officers found 3.5 pounds of a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana. Officers booked the suspect into the Ada County Jail on the marijuana trafficking charge.

Charged: Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver - Marijuana (F)
Early Saturday morning, January 4th, Boise Police patrol officers responded to a home on the 5200 block of West Morris Hill Road to follow up on a reported fight that had just occurred. Officers arrived and found the man who had called, identified as Charles Hall standing outside wearing only a pair of shorts. Due to the cold temperatures, officers asked the man if they could speak inside and Hall said yes. As officers entered the home, they immediately smelled the strong odor of marijuana and saw in plain view on the coffee table a green leafy substance and a glass pipe with burnt residue. Officers asked the suspect if there was any more marijuana in the house and the suspect pointed officers to a kitchen cupboard. The suspect opened the cupboard and removed a large ziploc bag which was later found to contain approximately 72 grams of marijuana. Officers could also see several smaller containers with small amounts of a green leafy substance and a digital scale on the counter along with another glass pipe. Officers placed Hall under arrest for the above felony charge and booked him into the Ada County Jail.

A Boise Police patrol officer stopped a vehicle for speeding, traveling 45 mph in a 35 mph zone northbound on Five Mile Road Saturday morning at 2:00 a.m. The driver was identified as Kurtz. A check on the driver found his license to be suspended due to a previous conviction for no insurance. Officers placed the driver under arrest for driving without privileges and lack of required insurance. A Boise Police drug detection dog, Turk alerted to the odor of drugs in the suspect vehicle. During a search following the suspect's arrest officers located a baggie in the car with a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana, and a blue pill with a mark that identified the substance as morphine, a schedule II controlled substance. Officers arrested the suspect on the above charges and booked him into the Ada County Jail.
Arrested: Chloe S. Yager, 20, Boise
Charged: Grand Theft (F)
Boise Police were called by employees at a retail store on the 300 block of North Milwaukee Street Friday. The employees presented the officer with evidence they had collected that appeared to indicate an employee, Yager, had been taking money from the business. The officer reviewed the evidence and found losses to the store in excess of $1,000. The officer arrested the suspect on the above charge.

Both Charged: Burglary (F)
Boise Police were called by employees to a retail store on the 8300 block of West Overland Road Saturday at 2:57 p.m. Officers met with employees who were detaining the two suspects. Officers spoke with witnesses who say the suspects were seen taking CD's and clothing items out of the store without paying. Officers found evidence the two suspects entered the store with the intent to commit the crime, making the charge felony burglary. The two were booked into the Ada County Jail.
