Officers Make Arrest in Electronics Store Burglary Thanks to Crime Stoppers!

Boise Police have arrested a man for smashing windows and breaking into an electronics store last month. The arrest is thanks to a tip from Crime Stoppers.

Arrested: Ryan W. Richards, 32

Charged: Burglary (F), Grand Theft (F), Malicious Injury to Property (F)

Information given to officers is Richards is from the Sacramento, California area and moved to Boise several months ago.

Officers arrested the suspect Nov. 4th following a tip to Crime Stoppers. The suspect was already in jail on an unrelated charge when officers were able to identify him. After the arrest, officers recovered some of the stolen items. However, several of the items reported stolen, like iPods had already been sold by the suspect and officers were unable to locate them. Richards is currently in the Ada County Jail on the above charges.

Burglar Smashes Window of Electronics Shop 

Boise, Oct. 7, 2013 - Boise Police are searching for the man who smashed a window to break into a small electronics shop early this morning. Once the suspect was inside the business, he broke open a display case and took off with several items.

The burglary happened at 12:30 this morning in the area of West Overland Road and South Vinnell Way.

Security footage captured images of the suspect and the suspect vehicle.

Suspect Description: lighter skinned male, wearing black shoes, blue jeans, green hooded sweatshirt and gray beanie.

Suspect Vehicle Description: A white Dodge Dakota 4-door pick up.
